How many types of Displayport connectors?
There are three main types of DisplayPort connectors:
1. Standard DisplayPort (DP): The most common and full-sized version. It is typically used on desktops and high-end monitors.
Size: 16.10mm x 4.76mm.
2. Mini DisplayPort (mDP): A smaller version of the standard DisplayPort, commonly found on laptops and compact devices.
Size: 7.5mm x 4.1mm.
Often seen in Apple devices and some PC laptops.
3. DisplayPort over USB-C (DP Alt Mode): A newer connector that uses the USB-C form factor to carry DisplayPort signals. This is used for modern laptops, tablets, and some monitors that use USB-C ports for video output.
Size: Same as USB-C (8.4mm x 2.6mm).
It supports DisplayPort 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 depending on the device.
Each of these connectors can transmit the same video and audio signals, but you'll need the appropriate cable or adapter depending on the device and port you're using.
