Customer questions & answersQUESTION: Have any of these ever burst into flames for anyone? ANSWER: No. In fact they never get warm, other than whatever heat is transferred from the hard drive.
QUESTION: I'm using a mounting kit for 2.5" to 3.5" bay where 2 2.5" SDD are on top of each other. will this be thin enough fit or too thick with release latch? ANSWER: That is EXACTLY what I was using these for but I paired these with this ICY Dock mounting bracket https://www.stc-cable.com/products/drive-cables/sata-15p-power-cables/ because it recessed the SSDs far enough back so these power splitters would fit back into the drive mounting area. I also had to be sure I was using flat (not right angle) data cables. I ended up retrofitting a small server that was only designed for about 3 drives and ended up with 6 SSDs using the ICY bracket and these power splitters
QUESTION: Hey guys, by any chance what is the insertion or mating cycle for this PN? ANSWER: Your question is not clear. “Mating cycle” is a biological concept, but seems irrelevant here. The connectors conform to the SATA spec. They allow you to power two SATA devices using only one outlet from the power supply. You can find the pin-outs on the internet, if that is your question

I bought a drive mount kit to add 2 2.5 in drives to a standard 5.25 inch HDD bay. It came with SATA data cables but only a power adapter to an old style 4 pin connector, so no power option. I ordered this twin pack - only needed one but now I have a spare, and all started working as soon as I hooked it up and rebooted. Quality seems very good."

Work excellent as a splitter and improves drive mounting options to when power supplies have 90 deg connectors when you need straight. I didn't give it five stars because the male connector end doesn't snap-lock into the existing female connector, I had to put a Ty-Rap around the connection to make sure it doesn't come loose in the future. "We needed these to expand the drive power sata connectors in our Easterling Custom's-Budget pc building YouTube channel. We used two in our file sever which runs 24/7, and one in our 4K Encoding machine which also runs 24/7. We have not had any issues, Tight Locking connections, Once you plug in and hear the click from the lock. There on and not coming lose unless you again unlock them. We have had no power loss or connection issues at all These work great We will be getting more of these for future builds."
"I have an older power supply that only had 2 SATA power plugs. I had 2 SSD drives and 1 optical drive I wanted to use so needed a splitter. This one worked great for that, and it has all of the power pins for SATA including the 3.3V orange wire (it doesn't look orange in the pic but it is) in case your device needs it."
