These HD Connectors are also used in the SAS 3.0 specification. The Low-profile interface uses less PCB real estate allowing twice the port density compared to the previous version of Mini-SAS. 6>The Mini SAS HD is the latest generation of SAS that supports both the SAS 2.1 (6Gb/s) as well as SAS 3.0 (12Gb/s) industry standards.
