1 x Screwdriver
2 x Screws

Pay attention:

1. You have to find out whether your mainboard is NVME-capable at all. Most old mainboards should have received BIOS updates in early 2015 that add NVME functionality. But you have to check that on the manufacturer's website
2. If your slot is PCIe 2.0 16x, the data transfer rate is limited to 2,000 MB/sec gross. So you have to be aware that if your PCIe 4.0 16x slot is available, then you will not achieve the full transmission rate.
Generally maximum possible speeds for M.2 NVME SSDs:
PCIe 1.0: 1GB/sec
PCIe 2.0: 2GB/sec
PCIe 3.0: 4GB/sec
PCIe 4.0: 8GB/sec
PCIe 5.0: 16GB/sec
PCIe 6.0: 32GB/sec
3. Initialization on older boards:
Once the NVME PCIe adapter is plugged into the board, nothing happens! The SSD is neither recognized as a boot device nor does it appear under the PCI devices under Linux, for example. But don't worry, neither the SSD nor the adapter is defective because the SSD is only recognized under Windows as soon as you open the disk management.
4. The UEFI BIOS of older mainboards probably only recognizes an NVME SSD if it has already been GPT partitioned.
