Customer Feedback "These things are awesome and I would recommend you get these over any others. They are cheap and come in 2, unlike others that come with 1 at like the same price. There are different versions of these that you can get, some have a wire for extension, but I don't see why you would need that. these are great. and if you need a DVI to HDMI converter just get these. Don't see why you would get any other ones."
"I needed to connect a second device to a monitor that only had one HDMI but had a DVI and VGA. I did not have a HDMI (from my laptop) to DVI directly, and I did not want to buy a dedicated cable. This worked great because it provides enough quality for use on a 1080p monitor as a second display. Do note that it does not provide audio channels, so you will need a different adapter or a separate speaker to hook up to. The audio out jack on the monitor will not work with DVI. Worked great for me though, since I could just use the HDMI port for my audio-heavy devices. Two-pack is a great value. Would recommend it!"
"These are passive adapters, so they don't restrict resolutions or compatibility. It also means there's no active circuitry inside to make them expensive and failure-prone. It's just bits of metal wiring the right pins of an HDMI plug to those of a DVI plug. It will convert DVI to HDMI, or HDMI to DVI. Or you can even use two of these plus an HDMI cable instead of a DVI cable, though I don't know why you'd want to. The passive design does come with a caveat: It is DVI-D only. It does not have or use the analog DVI-A pins. So, you CANNOT stack it with a DVI to VGA passive adapter to convert between HDMI and VGA -- if you tried this you would just end up with a blank screen. I can't say whether it works with 4K, 3D, or any of that. I bought them and have been using them for a year now to connect a DVI source, to an HDMI switcher, to a DVI display -- a viable switching solution even if you only want to switch between DVI sources, because HDMI switches are cheap but DVI switches are not."
"I needed an adapter so that I could hook my HDMI monitor up to my docking station (which only had one HDMI slot - but I have two monitors). I was happy to find these so cheap and delivery was super fast so I was up and running in no time. No issues with connections and they work great. Plus, I now have an extra, jic."
