Customer questions & answersQUESTION: What is the AWG of the cables? how many amps can each set of connectors handle? ANSWER: Dear buyer, we are a seller of this product, it is 18AWG, and the maximum current is 5A of each connector. Thanks!
QUESTION: why don't these come in just black? the mustard ketchup wires are incredibly ugly. good for the back of the case. but I need this exact thing but in black ANSWER: Thanks for your inquiry. I'm sorry that for the SATA cable you mentioned we don't have just black wires. Designing the different colors of wires to help distinguish the electric current better: Yellow one support 12/2A Red one support 12/2A The black one is GND but, if you need we can customize it, please send your inquiry to our colleague leo@stccable.com, and he will reply to you.
QUESTION: What are the dimensions of the angled header? How far does it jut out from the hard drive? ANSWER: It juts out no deeper than the thickness of a straight connector. The advantage is that the cable from the connector protrudes from the connector at a right angle to the drive and not straight out from the drive. I had very little room in my case between the drive and the case door where a straight connector would not work. This connector worked like a charm with absolutely no problems.
Feedback"I upgraded the OEM 460W power supply in my Dell Alienware Aurora R7 to an EVGA G3 gold 850W unit. The SATA power cable in the EVGA was not angled like this one, and that prevented me from closing the Alienware computer case. This right-angled cable was just what I needed to power my storage drive. I connected one end into the hard drive, and the other into the SATA power cable from the EVGA and I was good to go. Also, this is a Y cable, and the second SATA power adapter is long enough to reach my lower 2.5" drive bays (which aren't populated yet)."
"Bought these without looking into it as I needed a splitter for an older power supply. After I received it noticed it was missing the 3.3V orange wire. For most things needing SATA power (like regular hard drives and optical drives) they don't use it so it's not a big deal. Some SSD drives might need it so you might want to get a different one.
"Easy to install and it works. What more can I ask for for some cables?
"This seems to be a fine cable splitter but the 90-degree bend orientation is not what I needed. I needed the notch pointing away from the wires, but this one has the notch pointing toward the wire side. I could not find a SATA-to-SATA cable splitter of the type I needed. All of the SATA-to-SATA splitters that I found are of this type. Instead, I'm now ordering a Molex-to-SATA splitter that I hope will work."
"Just a simple right-angle adapter to help keep your SATA devices powered especially for compact cases that don't have much space or can't fit a standard sata cable or if you want your device to look better. Good to use on Alienware Aurora R8 if you ever change out the stock PSU to another brand."
